CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship not only provides students with financial support but also gives them a lot of encouragement and confidence. Female students who have passed CBSE 10th class with minimum 60% and are currently in class11 or 12 can apply for this scholarship to get financial aid.

CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship – Eligibility Criteria

To apply for this Scholarship, the students must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

  • The candidate should be the single girl child of her parents.
  • She should have qualified Class 10th with a minimum aggregate score of 60% or CGPA 6.2.
  • The candidate must have passed Class 10th examination from any CBSE affiliated school.
  • The tuition fee of the CBSE School from where the applicant has done her Class 10th should not be more than ₹ 1500/- per month. Also, for Class 11th and 12th additional 10% enhancement in fee is considered.
  • The age of candidate must not exceed 15 years at the time of admission.
  • Candidate must be the citizen of India. However, NRI candidate of the board whose tuition fee does not exceed 6000/- per month are also eligible for the scholarship.
  • The application needs to attach an original copy of the affidavit (attested by the Gazetted officer), with her application.
  • The application form must also be attested by the Principal of the school/Head of the institute from where the student is pursuing the Class 11th.

CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship – Required Documents

Following are the essential documents which the candidate will be needed at the time of filling up the application form:

  • Income certificate of the student.
  • Admission proof of the student.
  • Fee structure of the program.
  • Bank account details of the institution and the student.
  • Single copy of the passport size photograph with signature of the student.
  •  Identity card of the student.
  • An affidavit on Rs 50/- stamp paper from the parents/girl duly attested by the SDM/First Class Magistrate /Gazetted Officer (not below the rank of Tehsildar) mentioning that she is the only child in the family.

CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship Scheme – Application Procedure

The procedure to apply for this Scholarship Scheme is given below:

  • First of all, you have to go to the official website of CBSE. Where the home page of the website will open on your screen.

  • On the home page, you have to click on the “new user registration” option or “renewal user”.
  • A new window will appear on the screen where you carefully need to fill all the required information. Click on ‘Candidate’s Roll number ‘ and ‘Date of Birth’ (as mentioned on the Class10 marks sheet) and click the “Continue” button.
  • Take out the print of undertaking given in the ‘Guidelines’ document.
  • Now, you have to fill the form, paste the photograph and get it attested from the school.
  • According to the format given in the ‘guidelines’ document, make an affidavit.
  • Scan the undertaking and Affidavit and create the PDF file of up to 1Mb size.
  • Lastly, you have to Click the ‘Upload Document’ option and upload the documents.
  • Then go to print confirmation page button and generate the confirmation page.

CBSE Single Girl Child Scholarship – Selection Procedure

CBSE lays down certain criteria for the selection of students for this Scholarship. The selection is based on the following factors:

  • Student must have qualified class10 examination from CBSE school with 60% or more.
  • Currently pursuing class11 or 12 from CBSE affiliated schools.
  • Girl student should be only child of her parents
  • Original affidavit should be duly attested by the First-class Judicial Magistrate/SDM/Executive Magistrate/ Notary as per prescribed format available on the Board’s website. (Photocopy of Affidavit will not be accepted).
  • The school tuition fee should not exceed Rs.1500/- per month in Class X and 10% enhancement for Class XI & XII.

CBSE Merit Single Girl Child Scholarship – Renewal

  • The scholarship will be renewed for the next year of study on receipt of renewal.
  • Students not able to qualify next class would forfeit the scholarship.
  • The scholarship scheme will be implemented and monitored by the CBSE.
  • The scholarship received will be renewed for next year after the successful completion of class11. Renewal will also depend on promotion to the next class provided that the student scores 50% or more in aggregate in the examination, who determines his promotion to the next class.
  • The renewal /continuation of the scholarship, in case where a student gives up the chosen course of study before its completion or if she changes the school or course of study shall be subject to prior approval of the Board. Good behaviour and punctuality is required for continuation of scholarship. The decision of the board will be final and binding in all matters.
  • A scholarship once cancelled shall not be renewed under any circumstances.
  • Renewal/continuation of scholarship in cases of students who have renounced the chosen course of study before its completion or if it changes the   school or course. The study will be subjected to prior approval of the Board.
