SC Scholarship – Pre-Matric students Classes IX & X

This SC Scholarship is awarded by the Government of India and is implemented by the State Government or Union Territories (UT). It aims to provide financial assistance to ninth and tenth-grade students and reduce their dropouts due to lack of funds, allowing them to continue their higher education. Here is the amount of financial assistance provided to each scholar under this scheme.

Eligibility Criteria –

  • Students should belong to the Scheduled Caste class.
  • The annual income of the parents should not exceed INR 2.5 lakh per year.
  • Students should not receive any other funds from the Central Government.
  • Applicant must be a regular student in a government school or government or school recognized by the Central / State Board of Secondary Education.

SC Scholarship – Post matric Scholarship

The post-matric scholarship is schemes implemented through the state governments. This Scheduled Caste Scholarship Scheme provides financial assistance to Scheduled Caste students at matriculation or higher secondary level after enabling them to complete their studies.

In addition to the maintenance allowance, students will also receive non-refundable fees, study tour fees, thesis typing/printing fees, book allowance, and reimbursement for book bank facilities.

  • Post-matric students can apply for this scholarship after matriculation or enrolled in higher secondary courses in recognized institutions/universities/colleges.
  • The annual income of the student’s parents/guardians must not exceed INR 2.5 Lakh per year.

SC Scholarship – Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship SC

Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship or RGNF scheme is provided by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment to help the SC students.

2,000 scholarships are awarded to scheduled caste students every year. Students must be enrolled in recognized universities under the University Grants Commission (UGC). The fellowship is exclusively for M.Phil. and Ph.D. students.

  • Only students belonging to the SC class can apply.
  • They should be admitted to MPhil / Ph.D. degree in a university or educational institution.

The selected candidate will be required to execute a bond on a non-judicial stamp paper before the notary for the actual amount to be spent on the candidate by the Government of India. The candidates will not change the course of study or research while availing of the scholarship.

SC Scholarship – Top Class Education Scheme SC Students

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, initiated the proposals for this scheme by financial assistance to SC class students who have taken admission at the undergraduate or postgraduate level. The major objective of this scheme is to understand and promote quality education beyond class 12 among scheduled caste students.1,500 scholars are awarded under this scheme.

Top Class Education Scheme Award Details

  • Full tuition fee and non-refundable fee up to INR 2 lakh per year (for private sector institutions and up to INR 3.72 lakh per year (for private sector flying club for commercial pilot training and type rating course).
  • INR 2,220 per month of living expenses.
  • Charges up to books and stationery INR 3,000 per year.
  • One-time support of INR 45,000 for computer/laptop with UPS and printer.

Eligibility Criteria –

  • The scheme is open to those scheduled caste students who have completed the 12th standard.
  • Students must have taken admission in a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate course in a notified institution through the general selection criteria set by the respective institutions.
  • They should belong to a family where the annual income does not exceed 6 lakhs from all sources as compared to Rs.

  • All the IIMs, IITs, IIITs, AIIMS, NITs, NIFTs, NIDs, Indian Institute of Hotel Management, National Law Universities, and other Central Government Institution, OR
  • Institutes included in the list of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) A++ and A+ Accredited Institutions, OR
  • Top 100 national Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Institution, Or
  • Institutions of National Importance as per the list issued by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
  • In the case of commercial pilot training courses and type rating courses, all government and CPSE institutes approved by the Director-General of Civil Aviation run.
