Swami Vivekananda Scholarship – About
The SVMCM Scholarship is offered to those students of West Bengal who have brilliant academic records. The scheme aims to support those students who come from financially weak families and suffer to make ends meet when it comes to affording education. This scholarship is available for those students who are pursuing education at 11th, 12th, Graduation, Post-graduation, PhD level or those who have received Kanyashree (K-3) scholarship. The selected candidates are offered financial assistance so; they can afford quality education.
Swami Vivekananda Scholarship – Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal state.
- The applicants pursuing education at 11th, 12th, Graduation or Post-graduation level are selected on the basis of merit.
- The students pursuing MPhil or PhD courses from a state-aided college/university are also eligible.
- The applicants selected for the Kanyashree scheme those who are pursuing Science or Commerce courses from the universities in West Bengal and secured minimum 45% aggregate at the end of the course are also eligible.
- The applicants will not be allowed to apply for any other scholarship while they are receiving this scholarship.
- The family annual income of the candidate should be less than Rs.2.5 Lakhs.
Note: The students belonging to Minority community including Muslims, Buddhists, Jain, Christians, Sikh and Parsi can also avail this scholarship

Swami Vivekananda Scholarship – Documents Required
The students willing to apply for this scholarship must submit following documents while filling the application form for the SVMCM Scholarship 2020:
- Aadhaar card/Ration card/Voter ID card
- Income certificate (in the format specified)
- Recent photograph (10 -50 KB)
- Income affidavit (in the specified format)
- The first page of your bank passbook (containing account number and IFSC details)
- The front and backside of your mark sheet for the last examination passed
- Admit card of Madhyamik or equivalent examination
- Institute verification form (in the prescribed format) duly authenticated by the HOI (Head of Institution) (Note: The students can obtain institute verification form online from the portal after the submission of online application. Get it authenticated by the HOI and finally upload to the portal).
Swami Vivekananda Scholarship – Selection Procedure
The selection under the SVMCM Scholarship is done on the basis of merit and family annual income of the candidate. The shortlisting of the applicants of all the categories is done according to the steps mentioned below.
- The application of all the categories that are submitted are first sorted in descending order according to the marks scored by the student and the family income.
- The merit list is then generated on the basis of marks and family income. On the basis of the bank details submitted by the candidate the scholarship amount is transferred to their account.
Swami Vivekananda Scholarship – Application Procedure
The application for this scholarship can be done through the official portal of Swami Vivekananda Scholarship. on the homepage, hyperlinks for all the categories are given. Based on the category you are eligible for click on the hyperlink for that category. The students who belong to minority community have to submit their applications through the official portal of the West Bengal Minorities’ Development & Finance Corporation. The application for this scholarship can be done only through online mode, no hardcopy of the form will be acceptable.
Fill the Registration Form
To start the registration, process the candidate must visit the official website and fill the application form with valid information. After the registration a 15 digit an application ID is generated by the system for the future use. The applicants are advised to read all the instruction before starting the application process and strictly follow them. The application ID will be required in all the process in the future so the student must note it down. The application ID will also be sent via email. The students willing to fill the K3 application form must also fill the authentication form to authenticate the following details in the form:

Documents Upload

Final Submission of Application
Once the application is completed, the student must take out 2 print outs of the verification page. One is for the applicant and the other must be signed by the head of the Institute. After getting the signature the verification page must be uploaded to the porta.

The amount ranges between Rs.1000 to Rs.5000 for applicants of different categories. Swami Vivekananda Scholarship – Renewal
The beneficiaries of the SVMCM Scholarship have to apply for the renewal of their scholarship every year. The scholarship is applicable for the same level of studies. The renewal of your scholarship depends upon your academic performance only. The candidates must secure the minimum marks limit set under each category in order to renew the scholarship. During the transition process from Higher secondary to Diploma or UG the candidate must secure 60% aggregate. If the candidate wishes to renew scholarship at PG level, then he/she must secure at least 50% marks in UG aggregate.
Documents Required or Renewal
- The candidates pursuing UG courses must submit mark sheets of 1st-semester and 2nd-semester for the 2nd-year scholarship renewal.
- The candidates pursuing UG courses must submit mark sheets of 3rd-semester and 4th-semester for the 3rd-year scholarship renewal.
- The candidates pursuing PG courses must submit mark sheets of 1st-semester and 2nd-semester for the 2nd-year scholarship renewal.
