Post-Matric Scholarship for Persons with Disability Maharashtra 2022 – Apply Online & Last Date

The Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance, Government of Maharashtra, is inviting applications for the Post-Matric Scholarship for persons with disability 2021 from class 11 to PhD level disabled students. The main objective of this scholarship is to provide students with disabilities an opportunity to go into the mainstream of education through financial aid. Selected applicants will receive variable awards by the government.

Post-Matric Scholarship for Persons with Disability – Eligibility Criteria

  • To apply under the Post-Matric Scholarship for persons with disability, the student must be disabled. (40% or more)
  • To apply under this scholarship, the student should be a resident of Maharashtra.
  • The student should be studying in recognized university or recognized institute.
  • The scholarship will not be applicable if the candidate fails or leaves the same course in the applied course (incomplete course).
  • If the applicant applies on the criteria of HSC/SSC/Degree, he cannot apply for the scholarship for the second time. (Application must be in progressive format) (Only one time course is allowed)
  • A student studying in a recognized institution or college outside Maharashtra but should be a domicile of MH.
  • If the student is in post-graduation from the field of medical education and is not allowed to practice outside the institute then he is eligible. For example: internship or houseman ship where stipend is available.
  • Technical Education Certificate/Diploma/Degree is applicable for the scholarship if the students of Arts, Science and Commerce close their course and apply from the vocational course. But in case the candidate fails except in Group “A”, the scholarship will not be applicable for the scholarship.
  • For Group B, C, D and E: If the student fails then he/she will not be eligible for this scheme.
  • For Group A: If the student fails 1 time, he may be eligible for this scheme, but if he fails for the second time during the whole time of education, he will not be eligible.
  • The candidate who is pursuing distance education from recognized University/Institute where non-refundable fee is to be paid by the student, such students will have to pay an annual fee of Rs. 500/- for the purchase of books and materials.
  • Candidates can apply for Shahu Maharaj Merit Scholar with this scheme only. Cannot apply for another scheme.
  • If the candidate is doing full time employment, then he/she is not eligible.
  • If the candidate is from Government Hostel and is not getting books and stationery from the Hostel then he is eligible for additional 1/3rd amount of Maintenance Allowance as admissible to the Hostel.
  • Candidates will be given maintenance allowance at hostel rates if the applicant resides in a college/institute or any other recognized hostel and if he/she pays the hostel fee (application point no.11).

  • The benefits as below are paid to the eligible students under this scheme.
  • Maintenance allowance is provided as per Group A, Group B, Group C, Group D, Group E per month from the date of admission to the date of examination (maximum 10 months)
  • Day Scholar:
    • Group A – INR 550 per month
    • Group B and C – INR 530 per month
    • Group D – INR 300 per month
    • Group E – INR 230 per month
  • Hosteller
    • Group A – INR 1,200 per month
    • Group B and C – INR 820 per month
    • Group D – INR 570 per month
    • Group E – INR 380 per month
  • Blind: Vachak Bhatta (Additional):
    • Group A, B, C: INR 100 per month
    • Group D: INR 75 per month
    • Group E: INR 50 per month
  • In addition to the maintenance allowance, all mandatory fees/compulsory fees payable by the student to the institutions (tuition fee, examination fee and other fees) are covered under this scheme.
  • Should a candidate go for practice tour for vocational and technical education, he/she gets a maximum of Rs.500 per year or whatever is applicable. (If study tour as part of academic course)
  • In case the project is a compulsory part of the syllabus, he/she gets an additional maximum of Rs.600/- per annum as applicable, for printing and typing, but the original certificate is mandatory.
  • Candidates who are studying in MPhil and PhD courses get maintenance allowance as per Post Graduation Group A, B, C.
  • If the student takes admission by 20th of that month, then maintenance allowance is admissible for this month.

  • First of all you have to visit the official website of MahaDBT. After this the home page of the website will open in front of you.

  • On the home page of the website, you have to click on the option of Post Matric Scholarship. After that the options will be displayed in front of you.
  • Now you have to click on the option “Post-Matric Scholarship for persons with disability” from the section of “Social Justice and Special Assistance Department”. After this the next page will open in front of you.

  • On this page you have to click on “New Applicant Registration” option. After this the registration form will open in front of you.

  • Now you have to enter all the information in the form and click on “Register” button. Now your registration will be successful.
  • After that you have to use username and password to login.
  • After this you have to complete the application for the scholarship, for which you will need all the necessary documents.

Terms and Conditions

  • If the candidate fails or leaves the course then the candidate cannot apply for the scholarship.
  • The applicant cannot apply for the scholarship twice or for the second time if the candidate applies on the criteria of HSC/SSC/Degree
  • If the student is in post-graduation from the field of medical education and is not allowed to practice outside the institute then he is eligible.
