VJNT, OBC and SBC Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra has invited applications for the Post Matric Scholarship to VJNT Students Maharashtra 2022 for VJNT students from 11th to PhD level. The main objective of this scholarship is to provide an opportunity to the VJNT students to go into the mainstream of education, so that the students will be able to complete their studies in a proper way.
Post Matric Scholarship to VJNT Students Maharashtra – Eligibility Criteria
- The annual income of the parents/guardians should be less than or equal to Rs.1.00 lakh.
- Applicant should belong to VJNT category.
- Applicant must be a resident of Maharashtra.
- Applicants should be pursuing government approved education course from post-matriculation class.
- If the applicant is promoted to the next higher class, then maintenance allowance and examination fee is paid to the applicant.
- If the applicant fails in a particular year, then he/she will get the tuition fee, examination fee and maintenance allowance of that particular academic year but will not get the benefit till he/she gets promoted to the next higher class.
- The applicant must have come through the CAP round for professional courses only.
- Only two children (i) Any number of girls are allowed to apply. ii) Maximum 2 boys applicants from the same parent will be eligible for the scholarship.
- No scholarship will be paid to the applicants under this scheme from the date of acceptance of any other scholarship/stipend.
- 75% attendance is mandatory for the current year.
- The applicant will be eligible for the scholarship if he/she changes the course from non-professional to professional, but will not be eligible if he/she changes the course from vocational to non-professional.
- The scholarship/freeship will continue till the applicant completes a course. eg. – 11th, 12th Arts – BA, MA, M.Phil., Ph.D if the applicant has completed BA and B.Ed. course and subsequent admission to MA, he/she will not be allowed for scholarship/discharge for MA course. But after admission in MBA after B.Ed, it can be eligible for scholarship/freeship as it is a professional post graduate course.
- The applicant is studying exclusively in professional/non-professional course, and is availing the benefit of scholarship/freeship for that academic course and if he/she wants to change his/her existing professional/non-professional course between academic years he/she will not be eligible for freeship/scholarship for further course.

Post Matric Scholarship to VJNT Students – Benefits
Maintenance Allowance is paid to eligible VJNT applicants:
- If applicant selects course Group A – for Hostellers Rs. 425/ per month and Day Scholars (Non Hostelers) Rs. 190/Per Month (Duration – from the date of admission to the date of completion of examination)
- If Applicants Select Course Group B – 290/Per Month for Hostellers and Day Scholars (Non Hostelers) Rs. 190/Per Month (Duration – from the date of admission to the date of completion of examination)
- If the applicant selects the course Group C – For Hostelers Rs. 290 /pm and Day Scholars (Non Hostelers) Rs. 190/pm (Duration – from the date of admission to the end of the examination)
- If the applicant opts for the course Group D – for Hostellers Rs. 230/per month and Day Scholars (Non Hostelers) Rs. 120/pm (Duration – from the date of admission to the date of completion of the examination)
- If applicant selects course Group E – 150/Per Month for Hostellers and Day Scholars (Non Hostelers) Rs. 90/Per Month (Duration – Date of Admission till the date of completion of examination)
- Tuition fee, examination fee and maintenance allowance is 100% paid to applicants studying vocational courses and non-professional courses in government/aided/unaided institutions.
- If the applicant gets admission in a government hostel, then he will be eligible for only one third of the hostel amount.
- For B.Ed and D.Ed courses: 100% benefit (tuition fee, examination fee and maintenance allowance) is applicable for D.Ed, B.Ed courses. For students studying for D.Ed, B.Ed courses in Aided, Unaided, fee structure as per government rates for the same course is applicable.
- Note: If the applicant takes admission on or before 20th of any month then maintenance allowance will be released for that current month. Otherwise he will be entitled to maintenance allowance from next month.
Post Matric Scholarship to VJNT Students – Documents Required
- Caste Certificate – Must be issued by the competent authority (issued by the Government of Maharashtra) This certificate is considered as the proof of resident.
- Income Certificate / Income Declaration – to be issued by the Competent Authority
- Caste validity certificate – (compulsory for professional degree courses, vocational postgraduate. Caste validity is not mandatory for non-professional courses)
- HSC or SSC Marksheet or Final Exam Marks Table.
- Gap Certificate – Not mandatory but it is mandatory in case of gap.
- Death certificate of father/guardian, if applicable.
- Ration card to identify the number of children in the family.
- Leaving Certificate
- Declaration of parents/guardians about the number of beneficiaries of the children.
Post Matric Scholarship to VJNT Students – Application Procedure
- First of all, you have to visit the official website of MahaDBT. After this the home page of the website will open in front of you.

- On the home page of the website, you have to click on the option of Post Matric Scholarship. After that the options will be displayed in front of you.
- Now you have to click on the option “Post Matric Scholarship to VJNT Students” from the section “OBC, SEBC, VJNT & SBC Welfare Department”. After this the next page will open in front of you.

- On this page you have to click on “New Applicant Registration” option. After this the registration form will open in front of you.

- Now you have to enter all the information in the form and click on “Register” button. Now your registration will be successful.
- After that you have to use username and password to login.
- After this you have to complete the application for the scholarship, for which you will need all the necessary documents.
Renewal Policy
- It is mandatory for the applicant to pass the previous year’s examination
- In case of VJNT if the applicant fails for one year, then no reimbursement is given to the applicant for that particular year.
- For Group A – The award can be renewed if the applicant pursuing Group A course fails in the examination for the first time. For second and subsequent failure in any class, the applicant will have to bear his/her own cost till he/she gets promotion to the next higher class.
- For Group B, C, D, E – He/she will have to get promotion to higher class (For second and subsequent failure in any class the applicant will bear his/her own cost until he/she secures promotion to the next class. Higher Class.)
- If the applicant cannot appear for the annual examination due to any medical condition or due to some unforeseen event, the headmaster of the college may approve or certify that had the applicant appeared at the annual examination, he would have been able to pass the examination. for. This will be allowed only if the Head of the Institution is satisfied with the production of medical proof or any other necessary sufficient proof which the applicant produces to the College.
Terms and Conditions
- Applicants are required to qualify the previous year exam for renewal of scholarship.
- Students studying in government/government aided/unaided institution will get 100% tuition fee, examination fee and maintenance allowance.
- If applicants get admission in government hostel, they will be eligible for one third amount of hostels.
